Virtual Tour Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral is more than just a beautiful old building set in the heart of a beautiful city. Primarily it is a place of worship, but also a place to meet, a place of joy and occasionally sadness, a haven, sanctuary, a haven, a place of celebration but most of all it is that is alive with people, not only those who work there but the local community and visitors from far and wide. The combination of all that is what makes the Cathedral what it is today.

Did you know that the the first Cathedral was founded in about 600AD by St Augustine; that Archbishop Thomas Beckett was murdered here in 1170 when knights sliced off skull - yuk- and the first Cathedral was completely destroyed by fire in 1174.  Learn more facts and enjoy some peace and serenity by taking a look at the Cathedral Virtual Tour.

In addition to exploring the Cathedral through the tour enjoy reading more information on the City of Canterbury itself with suggestions on what to do over a few days and where to stay.
