Arrive in Victoria and transfer through to your downtown hotel. Take the rest of the day at leisure to explore British Columbia capital, relax following the long flight at Butchart Gardens and then take a evening stroll and dinner at Inner Harbour.
DAY 2 :
Today you embark on a fascinating wildlife viewing experience aboard a fast moving zodiac rigid boat where a certified marine biologist provides insight into the remarkable environment and habits of the marine life such as orca, mike and grey whales.
Today you will leave Victoria behind as you start your drive through to Tofino (320kms/200miles). A panorama of scenic beauty unfolds before you, travelling through the ancient rainforests, deserted beaches and wilderness of the Pacific Rim National Park, where wildlife awaits you around every corner and your camera will rarely be out of your hand!
DAY 4: Tofino
Another zodiac experience is in store for you today as you speed off along the shoreline on an enthralling black bear watching excursion and to the bears feeding grounds. Back on dry land you are free to explore the rugged coastline along the network of hiking trails.
Today you will wind along the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, passing the native rock carvings at Sproat Lake and the picturesque Little Qualicum Falls towards Campbell River where your accommodation for the next 2 nights is at the stunning Sonora Resort (290kms/180miles), a luxury wilderness and eco-adventure resort located in the pristine environment of British Columbia's Discovery Islands. To reach this gem you will board a water taxi for a short boat ride upstream and disembark for an adventure that meets with unparalleled service.
DAY 6: Sonora Resort
Today you will take one of two thrilling nature adventures. The Econature Tour operates 1st May - 26th August and features a fascinating guided tour of the surrounding wilderness whilst you are watching out for bears from the safety of your boat. From 27th August to 11th October the tour changes as boat journeys travel through to the prime feeding and gathering areas of the mighty grizzly bear. Once back at the resort you will be able to settle in for the evening, take a spa treatment and enjoy the comfort of the facilities of this truly remarkable west coast hotel.
With sadness you leave the beautiful islands on the ferry back to Campbell River and then continue your drive south along the eastern shoreline of Vancouver Island through small seaside towns. On arrival at Nanaimo board the ferry and sail across the straits of Georgia to Vancouver for your last few nights.
DAY 8: Vancouver
Today is yours to explore this vibrant cosmopolitan city, where boutique shops line Robson Street, forested trails and an enchanting zoo lie within easy reach of Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge invites you to walk the 140meter span!
