Lapland Northern Lights

Reindeer Lapland
Huskey Snow Dog

True Lapland can be found deep within the Arctic Circle, a land of legend, magic and Northern Lights. Experience the stunning, natural beauty of a vast wilderness that has been home to the Sámi people for generations, at least 6000 years. Here the Northern Lights frequently evolve across the night sky and the road north to Tromsø is officially names the 'northern lights route'.

Here, the expanse of wilderness wraps you with peace and silence, the air is believe to be the cleanest in the World. The vast landscape is crossed and dotted with untamed rivers, crystal-clear lakes and forests and magnificent wildlife still thrives including reindeer; 20,000 of them, compared with just 2,000 people!

Karesuando is part of the Sámi homeland area that has supported the unique way of life of its people. Most of them still lead a semi-nomadic life, travelling across these vast landscapes with the reindeer when the annual migrations take place. Their communities are built on deep respect for the natural world and a warm hospitality that you will discover to your delight.

A short 3 night break into Kiruna, Sweden's most northern town offers a true Arctic experience with a range of snow-based activities including dog-sledding, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing and of course driving out to maximise your chances of seeing the Northern Lights.
