South Pacific Islands

Bora Bora hut
Polynesia island boat canoe

Australia is about as far as you can travel from Europe, so once 'down-under' it is worth considering other island options such as New Zealand and French Polynesia or Fiji, Bora Bora, Likuliku, Moorea, Tetiaroa....

Names that conjure up images of perfect tropical havens quite so romantic as the South Pacific. Cast yourself away in the these distant desert islands where luxury is laid back, where the locals are quick to smile and the welcome is legendary.  To step of the plane in Fiji to the chant of 'Bula' is to step into another world that moves at a glacial pace, caressed by ocean breezes and blessed with incredible volcanic scenery. Maroon yourself amongst hundreds of islands set in the turquoise seas, snorkel or dive amongst coral reefs that teem with colourful tropical fish. In the welcoming villages guests are invited to join in the 'mekes' or communal dances, sample 'kava' the local firewater, fest on local delicacies and witness fire walkers brave the burning embers. For the ultimate indulgence experience a Polynesian massage in an over-water spa as the azure waters lap about beneath you.

Whilst many visitors choose to visit a single island in Fiji, French Polynesia is an ideal island hopping destination where two or more islands can easily be combined with a short flight or boat transfer. Both Fiji and French Polynesia can be a luxury add-on to a visit to Australia or New Zealand or as part of a round the world itinerary.
