‘At-a-Glance’ Illustrative Itinerary
DAY 1: On arrival at Zurich Airport you will take a rail transfer through to St. Moritz, chic elegant and exclusive St Moritz located at an altitude of 1856 meters above sea level and surrounded by the beautiful lake landscapes. Overnight in St. Moritz.
DAY 2: Today is a day at leisure for you to explore the Upper Engadine valley. Take advantage of the included Swiss Card and enjoy one of the many top excursions in the region. Altenatively take one of the many cable cars from St. Moritz itself up high into the mountain stations for a gentle hike and some lunch.
DAY 3: Today you will ride the famous Glacier Express, the slowest 'express' train in the world, in a panoramic carriage through to Zermatt. Take in some of Switzerland's most dramatic scenery. For refreshment pre-book the one course dish of the day or the freshly cooked 3-course menu to be served at your seat.
You will arrive in Zermatt, at the foothill of the towering Matterhorn, late afternoon. Try a Swiss speciality for dinner - cheese fondue.
DAY 4: Today take an excursion up to either Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at an airy 3883 meters above sea level where you will arrive at Europe's highest cable car station. From the viewing platform you will enjoy a 360degress panoramic view that includes 38 Alpine giant mountains. A visit to the glacier palace will make the excursion an experience you will never forget. On the way back down get off at Schwarsee, the foot of the Matterhorn with its idyllic lake and chapel. On interactive theme paths you can learn many interesting facts about the world of glaciers.
DAY 5: Today you transfer back to either Geneva or Zurich for your flight home.
